My journey into the world of needle felting started with knitting and spinning. Handling fibre and making things with my own hands was extraordinary. I tried 3D felting and I realized I was not very good at it. By chance I went to a Fibre art exhibit in Elora, Ontario and was inspired! I could do this!
My sister then gave me a gift certificate to attend a Fibre workshop. Now I had a deadline and needed to see if I could even do this! And yes I can! And I liked it! From there I attended every workshop and seminar and took every online class I could find. From being a "wanttobe" I became an "isabe". I am very proud that my works have received awards at the craft exhibits at the local fall fairs.
Painting with wool or needle felting is a very therapeutic hobby for me. When the image starts to take life and starts to talk to me I enter a very special place where it is just me, the image, and the fibre. All of life’s stresses just melt away.
These are some the most noteworthy classes/workshops I have attended in the last year:
Online Classes and Tutorials
Elizabeth Whitton - Felted Sky Studios
Sara Smelt - Felt Evolution
Marie Spaulding - Living Felt
Dani Ives - Good Natured Art
Workshops
Jennifer Budd - Woolscapes
Megan Cleland - Line of Fibre
Maggie Glossop - Local Fibre Artist
I am now ready to take commissions to do YOUR very personal pet portrait and bring him/her to life. All I need is a high quality image that I can work from. Please email me at alltuckedin@hotmail.com for prices and information. Thanks!
